Assignment Name: Design and Construction of Proposed Remedial Works on the Precast Concrete Slab above Formation Area at Uganda Batteries Limited.

Brief Description of Works Performed
- Rectification:-Installation of steel pots to support the failed precast concrete slab to assist in carrying the load imposed on the suspended slab.
- Design Works: Carried out structural integrity assessment of the slab, preparation of structural drawings and preparation of Bills of Quantities (BoQs).
- Demolition and Excavation works: Demolition of existing walls and floor slab to allow for Excavation for column bases commencing at reduced level but not exceeding 1.5m deep.
- Concrete Works: 50mm Thick blinding layer under column bases and vibrated reinforced concrete class 25 to column bases and sturb columns.
- Steel Structure Works: Reinforced the failing existing slab using 254 x 146 x 31 Kg/m UB Columns bolted on to 10mm thick mild steel plate using M16mm Anchor bolts 600mm long cast into concrete of Stub Columns and 254 x 146 x 31 Kg/m UB Beams with IPE 200 x 22.36Kg/m Girder using welding method.
- Painting Works: Prepare and apply three coats of acid resistant paint (epoxy enamel) to steel structure.
